'First Arrival' Itoh Peony (Paeonia lactiflora x lemoni 'First Arrival') 2-3 eye divisions. Zones 3-8. 32" tall. Intersectional peony- a cross between the tree and herbaceous peony. All the benefits of the strong stems of herbaceous types and delicate form and colors of tree peony blossom. Large, lovely lavender pink blossoms in semi double form, lightly fragrant, making good cut flowers. The Itoh peonies are fast growing and loaded with blossoms in spring, holding up well to weather with no drooping and blooming longer than most herbacious types.



Plant in full sun, in moist, fertile, well draining soils. In northern states plant roots 2" below the soil line. In southern states plant roots 1" below the soil line. Planting in partial shade my guard plants in areas that receive intense summer heat. Peonies are best planted in states that receive 40 degree temperatures in winter as chilling is needed for peonies to bloom well.



Smaller, more affordable size in this hard to find plant. May take 1-2 years to produce bloom. 3 1/2" pots. * Please note, This plant will be sent bare root west of the Mississippi River, due to restrictions on non sterile soils*
